DoctorQ9
I have a 2018 Casino and I am not satisfied with the machine heads that came with it. I want to upgrade, but I would like to install the upgrades myself without having to do any drilling or modification to the headstock. Does anyone know of machine tuners that would meet this requirement? Or would all upgrades require some sort of modification?
MikeRom
I have a fairly new ES 339 and yeah the tuners are weak. I'm leaning heavily towards Planet Waves auto-trim tuners and it won't break my heart if I have to drill. This is my first Epi and the first time I've ever felt the need to change tuners so sorry I can't answer your question (really helpful I know). Gibson deluxe tuners look like they would be a direct replacement .

But I am assuming you have the standard Casino tuners that are Epiphone Classic tuners (tuning ratio unknown) that are styled like the Kluson's that Gibson uses.. There are several different manufactures that make them like Grover, Wilkinson, Gotoh and Kluson, Kluson being the original US tuner. They come with white or chrome buttons and keystone buttons. Also the available tuning ratios from 18:1 (have to turn more but easier) to 14:1 (a little stiff but faster reacting). If you don't want to drill you will need the ones that do not have "threaded bushings" (no nut on the top) and use a press in bushing. I just bought a set of these in nickel with a 15:1 ratio for My LP DC... Edited August 21, 2019 by mihcmac
