I have a a J-15 that I really like. My only issue is that the neck is a little too thick from fret board to the back of the neck. The width is great... Is this a standard neck profile for Gibson? Are there other models that have a different neck profile?

Gibson necks..  So you probably have something that is most like a 50's round neck?

Overall, I think it's hard to say, as IME  they are all a bit different.  I don't think I've ever played a Gibson of any sort where any two had identical neck profiles.  Close, but.. never quite the same from one to another..

I am curious as to which  J-15 neck you are referring to?  The non-cutaway J-15 has a slim taper neck, the cutaway version of the J-15 has a slightly different neck shape (whose name slips me.)  just curious.

That one has the slim taper neck.  One of my favorites.  However, different models and different eras of models often have different necks.  So in answer to your question of are there other models that have different neck profiles.  Sure are.  Makes it all the more interesting.  (My top four favorite guitars, all have different shaped necks.)

I had a 2017 J15, and it had a slim taper neck just like my friend's 2016 J45. I felt it was too thin and moved on to a J35, which has a fuller neck profile.
