I pick the flamethrower, and here's why:

 

1. You burn the bastards to a crisp.

2. This ensures that if it is a virus that is causing the dead to rise, you kill it along with the zombie.

3. As the zombies stumble into each other they ignite each other, meaning that you have to use less fuel. Even though it's unlimited, you save reload time.

4. You can use it to cook food (carefully, of course!) when hungry.

5. Use it to sterilize whatever the zombies may have touched.
