Gondola44 Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 Hi, First time poster. Looking at purchasing this guitar from interstate. My friend will check it out/pick it up for me. Just checking that it's a legitimate Hummingbird Vintage 2017 as will not be able to see it in person before buying. The price seems very reasonable. Thanks
fortyearspickn Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 I have the predecessor - 'True Vintage' model, and this one looks identical. Except, of course for the face. So, from the pix, it looks like the real thing. Pre-Congrats!
j45nick Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 Looks like the real thing to me, and a very nice one.
62burst Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 How reasonable? Yes, it's legit. Could be the twin to my 2017. Enjoy, and welcome.
Gondola44 Posted October 31, 2019 Author Posted October 31, 2019 Thanks for the info. My friend is having a look/picking it up tomorrow hopefully! Got another pic of the saddle. Does it look high enough? Being as thorough as possible without actually seeing it. Cheers!
Violeiro Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Does it have the serial number engraved on the back of the headstock?
Gondola44 Posted October 31, 2019 Author Posted October 31, 2019 Yes the serial number is engraved on the back of the headstock (matches the serial inside the sound hole), as well as 'made in usa'. Checked the number in some of the online serial number decoders and came up with March 2017.
jschmitz54 Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 I recently purchased a used 2019 J-45. I got the serial number from the seller and called Gibson customer service. Along with pictures of both sides of the headstock and the sound hole tag Gibson verifies the year and model as authentic. They can tell you if warranty service has been done as well as when it was sold and the date the guitar was made. I thought that was impressive customer service. Good Luck!
