Jpwhit1
Looking at a local guitar and trying to figure out info. It’s serial is 112830553. Standard plate. How do you know, other than measuring, whether it’s a wide or slim neck? Does the serial number offer any clues?
merciful-evans
I doubt the serial number would help in isolation (except for Gibson staff). Most of all, Photos would help. Does it have a date stamp on the back of the headstock? What model is it? The 2015s had the widest neck. The subsequent 2016-> HP and Moderne had wider also. kidblast
Well it's a 2013 model, so if you can go back and look to see what those specs were.... bedsides Does it really matter all that much? Have you played it? I have 4 gibsons with 59 profiles, none of them are the same. I have one '02 with a ST profile. I honestly don't prefer one profile to the other... 01GT eibach
You can generally tell the difference between slim or fat neck just by putting your hand around it pretty easily ... You can even do that with the guitar hanging there (you don't even need to pick it up and play it).
