What purpose does it serve to list the atrocities of each party. I have no party loyalty. If your party loyalty is greater then you patriotism or for your love of mankind then your no American to me. I have no use for anyone who thinks that way' date=' on any issue. At the moment the Republicans are descending while the Democrats are ascending . If you are incapable of dealing with this then please move to a compound in the Arizona Desert and shoot lots of rocks and snakes. The rest of America has things to accomplish. Get the hell out of the way.

If you offended then keep in mind I could have just said move to France. A$$holes.

Hey why don't you stick your anti-union sh1t straitght up your a$$. I haven't been to a union meeting in 2 years and I need no one to tell me what to think. You can't say the same thing. You need a political party, preacher, golden savior from the Arizona desert to do your thinking for you.

I don't think you've said much of anything in the whole time you've been here. The same posts from the same websites. Find some new material and stop trying to use your bent perspective as historical facts.

It's funny you ignore the historical fact that the Dixiecrats -- right wing racists -- moved quickly to the Republican Party along with Storm Thurmond' date=' the Lotts, etc. And, the Republican Party welcomed them with open arms.

Right wingers today, are usually Republicans, and [b']a significant percentage are racists/bigots [/b]who want a return to "states rights" to discriminate, poll taxes, literacy tests, etc. I bet you are a Republican, or worse a so-called Libertarian.

My favorite memory of the last election was the 1 Republican who went to the NAACP event out of the 11 old white guys vying for Prez. The others figured they'd actually solidify the bigot vote by not going.

Much of the right wingers' gun fancy is based upon racism/bigotry too. But that's another topic.

No sane person needs an "assualt weapon". The Constitution did not contemplate citizens owning weapons for mass killing. The sooner we face that fact, the better. Like I've said before, my six shooter and machete are plenty protection for me and most others.

How do you know that a significant percentage of republicans are bigots? Do you have direct knowledge of this?

Have you done some secret polling?

The constitution didn't talk about any "right" to privacy either, or abortion, which has resulted in the murder of more than 40 million babies since Roe v. Wade. Any mention in the constitution about stem cells, or federal control of schools, or local infrastructure projects, or income tax?

Why is the NAACP important? Isn't it a racist organization?

Are you white? I'm only half white...am I still a racist? Are the black gang members that are armed with "assault weapons" racists? How about the Mexican drug gangs armed with "assualt weapons" are they racist too?

Are you related to Homz? He makes the same kinds of crazy, unsubstantiated B.S. statements that you make. Are you in a union?

Good luck with that machete...

I need no practice to deal with people like you. You are the same today as you were yesterday and will be tomorrow. It's the same tired historical revisions, bent vision of the American dream based on your own selfish goals, and a totally oblivious perspective to what your neighbors need to get a leg up. Your a greedy bastard with no regard for anyone. I actually have more pity for your then animosity. If there is a heaven/god and I hope there is people like you will never be there to say howdy to the rest of the people who work for a better life for us all. Good luck with all your evil busssh1t I'm done with you and your stupid cohorts.

You work in a union shop, you live in a "Closed shop" state, you vote for pro-union politicians...you are living a "union meeting"...as I said before, I AM NOT A MEMBER OF ANY POLITICAL PARTY or ORGANIZED RELIGION or UNION. I appreciate Neo's posts and views, but I get along just fine on my own...Still waiting from some proof of republican, federal government or W's involvement in the gun confiscation after Katrina...I don't really expect any facts to back up your crazy talk. I enjoy reading your lunacy...you make me laugh.

Only if Israel used to be part of Africa...

Indeed...

The Israelites are thought to have come into existence between 1400 and 1100 BC in Canaan and Egypt. The descendants of Abraham crystallized into a nation at about 1300 BC after their Exodus from Egypt under the leadership of Moses.

Though by the time Jesus is born, who knows the skin color in that region? Certainly not "white" though. Most likely he was darker skinned - though not as dark as the early Israelites who originated in Egypt. But the question is, would he have to put black on his paperwork? [-X

Why do any of us have to identify our race or skin color on any paperwork? Why does it matter?=P~

Well, duh... to have a better chance at a scholarship or a federal job! (You may tee off now)

I do know that in public education we do this for demographic analysis, the idea being that if we can identify a segment of our student population that is not achieving (a word which here refers solely to performance on standardized tests) then we can more successfully work to improve that population's achievement. We do the same with SES (socioeconomic status) by tracking the performance of our free-reduced lunch population. In reality it generally leads to a dead end. It tells us which parts of our population are not achieving, but we are often unsuccessful in increasing that achievement. The preferred strategy seems to be to place the struggling students in a class with other struggling students and give them more of the work with which they are already struggling.

I agree with Martin Luther King Jr. on the matter...I don't want to measure anybodies success in any endeavor based on the color of their skin.

"...I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today..."

no. i use the range at don's but i wont buy guns from him. he is EXTREMELY overpriced.

for example i bought a beretta model 21 for my wife. i paid $250 out the door. don's wanted almost $300 for a used one. i buy my stuff at bradis on the southside of indy. good people, good prices. i got the AR15 for $850. i then went to don's to try it out. and for the exact same rifle, don's wanted $2600!!!!!

NeoCon' date=' if you could read, you would see I was responding to another gun lover/caresser who said "why do people buy sport cars, Coach handbags, . . . . . .? [/quote']

Do you own a Gibson?

More than one?

I realize you folks buy "assualt weapons" for "intimidation."

"You folks?"

Who are the "you folks" you're referring to?

As far as ME intimidating anybody with a gun' date=' that would be brandishing a weapon - something I've NEVER done.

Few people ever see any of my guns, they're not to be "flashed" like jewelry.

Funny how I may even agree with you in that regard.

The differences between different rifles that function the same is the very essence of the question "What is an assault rifle?" question you keep ignoring.

You continue to spout off your opinion of what should and should not be concerning hobbies and rights you oppose.

You continue to demonstrate not only a colossal ignorance, but rejoice in the continuation and propagation of it.

That's my point and exactly why they should be outlawed and anyone who has or wants them should be given a pre-emptive psychological exam to ensure they are not a homegrown terrorist and/or psychopath.

Perfect confirmation of what I just typed above...

I would like to do the same with you before you get another chance to vote AGAINST our Constitution, Bill of Rights and Bible.

Get mad.

Sorry you feel the need to use such weapons to "intimidate" and bolster whatever you feel you are lacking. Seems to be a common trait among right wingers.

You're a liar, and you're doing your dead level best to create, perpetuate and celebrate a stereotype.

Meet me on the street, you'll have no idea I'm armed.

My schoolteacher wife is the same, you'd never guess she's packing heat - and she'll never tell you.

neo,

the intimidation thing came from one of my earlier posts where i referenced the movie "Dogma" by calling the AR "the Fecalator." i said that i bought the gun for its collectability, its coolness and the intimidation factor. the problem is that hoyt cant tell what is sarcasm/satire. he doesnt realize there is NOT an intimidation factor with an AR15- because no one except my friends and you guys will ever see it. not like i'm going to go walking around town with it.

Again' date=' you're typing out your ***.

My, aren't you consistent?

:-)

I haven't shot a snake in twenty years, I want them all to live as nature intended.

If I don't NEED to, I don't kill any animals outside of a licensed hunt.

Shooting at rocks is about as dumb as everything else you type.

The rest of America has things to accomplish. Get the hell out of the way.

Yeah, good luck getting ME out of your way while you try to accomplish...

What is it you're trying to accomplish, anyway?

You never have answered THAT.

Pro union, Republican-hating, sh!t-stirring baloney is ALL I see from you.

To accomplish anything, I'm afraid you'll have to demonstrate a little better ability than what you've displayed so far.

If you offended then keep in mind I could have just said move to France. A$$holes.

France is tailor-made for you.

No wasted efforts to mold society and gov't to suit you, it's already done.

Oh, and you could practice converting to Islam to fit in with your beloved Muslim fascists....

The guy in Alabama could have been stopped by one civilian carrying a weapon.

The guy who shot Dime Bag could have been stopped by one civilian carrying a weapon.

The guy at the Pepsi plant in Denver could have been stopped by one civilian carrying a weapon.

The guy in Omaha Nebraska - Crandon Wisconsin - Brookfield Wisconsin -Red Lake Minnesota -could have been stopped by one civilian carrying a weapon.

because unless you're bruce effing lee, martial arts work better in tournaments than in real life. i remember when i took kung fu classes, as a white belt i could easily overpower and take down the guy 3 belts above me. he knew more forms and moves, but i had 5 inches and a 50+ lbs on him.

now take the situation to a street robbery and factor in that i may:

a) have a knife or a gun

and/or

:D be on drugs or withdrawling from them. either would make me extremely volatile. and with a drug like PCP or meth....kung fu might not cut it.

now, take that situation and instead of a male victim, make it a woman. now the attacker has 150lbs and a 7in advantage. sure, i'd better not bring my gun. i had better talk him down.

I learned an awesome technique in Tae Kwon Do class last night, its this special block that stops bullets... what I don't understand, hoyt, and hope you can explain (hoping for any explanation from you... i am insane) is why anyone cares if we carry around guns on the streets since it is so easy to defend yourself without a gun. Didn't I read somewhere that all the cops are trading in their Glocks for Karate lessons? No, I didn't.

Seriously, again I ask you for the same thing...

Please provide any evidence you have that suggests that armed citizens increase crime rates, that suggests that HEAVILY armed citizens increase crime rates, that suggests that a criminal will have any more trouble killing you with a hunting rifle than they will with that same rifle with a pistol grip stock, that suggests that I will be fine throughout a criminals 10 bullet attack, but the 11th will become dangerous, or any instance where increased gun control has even been suggested to be linked to improved public safety.

We all agree there is a problem, crime, high crime. You offer a solution which is to ban at least some weapons, please offer supporting evidence that this "solution" would have any positive effect at all on the problem.

Maybe you ought to get rational. How many robberies happen on the streets unless you are out doing drug deals and the like? I suggest you can defend yourself with some street smarts to begin with and people aren't likely to mess with you. But, then, a lot of gun nuts have irrational fears. Sad.

I can somewhat understand a woman needing some protection. But, then, most of them aren't really into "assualt weapons" and such. In other words, they are a lot more reasonable about their use of weapons. I don't see them trying to compensate by "collecting and caressing" weapons that are more than one really needs for protection.
