Boston004681
What do you guys think about it before i put it on my baby?
Tim Plains
Why would you want to do that? I don't like putting crap on my guitars. By crap, I mean chemicals. I occasionally wipe the body with a dry cloth and I only use Fret Doctor premium bore oil on the fretboard. Fret Doctor is fairly expensive for what it is, around $20/bottle. You can also get another brand of premium bore oil for $5/bottle. If my strings start to feel a bit older and not as smooth anymore, I use that cheaper bore oil on the strings and it makes them feel like new again. My strat has the most disgusting fretboard in the world. I don't want it to happen to my SG.
guitar_randy
It seems safe but I don't think it helps or does much.
Tim Plains
Boston, I'm also a member at the Les Paul Forum. I searched that forum a while ago and found no bad comments about Fret Doctor. I'm sure a lot of the other products are fine and also work great but I won't use anything else on my fretboards anymore, only Fret Doctor. Bore oil is the only way to go, as far as I'm concerned. If you do buy it, you only need to apply it once a year, or so, and the easiest way to do it is with a Q-tip. Fret Doctor http://www.beafifer.com/ That other cheaper stuff I sometimes use on my strings. AXE®
Tony Iommi uses it .
TheLiveSoundGuy
I like the applicator brush, but that's about it. That little wooden knob is great for putting some pressure on while scrubbing the gunk, but I always wipe the neck off completely afterward. I haven't used it myself since the mid-nineties. brundaddy
It's the best thing since LED-tuner pedals!!!! Dude, it prolongs string life big time, cleans the strings & fretboard... it brings strings that are fading into the "dead" zone back to life -- and one stick of it lasts for years. It clears out all the sweat & finger cheese. It's cheap as hell. Do it once & if you think it sucks throw it out (or better, pass it along to another player) & don't do it again. AXE®
So if Tony jumped off a bridge would you? lol Speaking of does he still use that finger tip extender? [Yes] and [Yes] But I do not use fast fret...
rjay777
Fast Fret's fine. Like most products, using in moderation is not gonna hurt the guitar. I've used it for ages and never had a problem with it. Knock yourself out.

KSG_Standard
I bought a can/stick of it in the late '80s and I still have it...I haven't used it since probably 1991. It doesn't hurt the guitar, but I couldn't tell if it did any good either...If you want you can have mine.
