Nitro/Stand Problems?

Murph

Recommended Posts

Well, in my experience, the hercules stands are nicer to your nitro guitars, but I left a flying v sitting on one for a couple weeks and although there was no discoloration, the nitro had dimpled a little bit where the stand contacted it. So I have a time limit of under a day my guitars are allowed to sit on hangers. I usually throw a polish cloth over that auto grab doohickey and periodically rotate the foam so it develops flat spots less quickly.

I cut a thick old flanner into strips and sticched them over the rubber arms and yoke of a more traditional stand. It works great on not damaging the finish, but I can't use it with most of my guitars as most of them are explorers and the combination of a low stand and slick flannel means they won't sit on them without a lot of fiddling.
