ZakrisS
Hello I recently bought this SG on Reverb for 350 dollars. Since I've had it I've changed the pickups electronics and tuners back to the original Gibson ones that came on this guitar. I've also taken out the tuning stabilizer on top(left no damage). I am however having trouble identifying this guitar. I can't find an SG's that have fret binding a nitro finish, two humbuckers, and no head stock crown inlay. This guitar has not had any pickup routing done and it appears to be the original neck. I've attached some pictures for reference. If anyone could help identify this guitar that would be great. Thank you.
Grog
If it originally had P-90’s, I would guess SG Special. I believe that some SG Specials might have come with humbuckers..... I can’t make out the serial # but it is a recent model.
ZakrisS
Hello Grog. Yes this is a recent model from 2006, and has not had any P-90's in it. I found a 1968 Gibson special that looks to have all the same specs as mine so i was thinking a possible re-issue? The serial number 029660687 if that helps. Thanks Edited February 9, 2020 by ZakrisS
