WTH did you do today?

Went to my moms house, noticed she is having a hard time walking around now at 90.  Good thing my sister & her husband moved in with her so they can look after her.  Then for dinner, Deb & I went to Texas Roadhouse and had a great meal.

Karate training in Sensie's neighbours back garden. We are allowed 6 people to meet outdoors, all properly socially distanced. Learning Tekki Sandan kata. A real pleasure.

Later today, cutting down branches on overgrown trees again (Started on Tuesday) at the house my son has just vacated.

This evening a family Zoom quiz (yeah, we're still doing that). My questions are about police cars. Match the police car to the right country/nation.

Rode a motorcycle at 80 MPH in the snow (in late April?) and managed to get home before the roads got slick, had a plumber replace a section of thoroughly clogged galvanized pipe with PVC and am finally going to get a real hair cut later on today.

Also finished up Michael Osterholm's Deadliest Enemy: Our War Against Killer Germs.

According to Dr. Osterholm, while COVID-19 is bad, it's not the big one which he predicts is coming up sooner or later.  He expects it to come in the form of an influenza strain courtesy of chickens and pigs.

Getting ready for the next test in the tunnel. We were re-arranging the heat tape (the same stuff you use at home to keep your pipes warm in the winter) on a pipe in the tunnel that the guys with PH.d's shoot a laser down for some data they collect.

And tonight I am going to be lazy and make French Bread Pizza for dinner.

Visited with our oldest son - to celebrate his 44th birthday a couple of days after the real celebrations with his family and friends.  Was good - without his family there (5 year old and 22 month old, and wife) - we got to have a real, great conversation.    Instead of the normal  'Grass is greening up'   and  'Puppy is settling down'   and  "Looks like Lily lost another tooth".    And, of course, our speechlessness when we heard, last time - our grandkids get a $20 Bill from The Tooth Fairy !

[omg]

Damn!   I thought I struck it rich with the DIME per tooth that fairy gave me!  [biggrin]

My kids( heh, "kids";  funny calling them that when both mine are well over forty also) each got a dollar and I thought THAT was way extravagant!  [wink]

Having coffee and probiotics, Cobain may be gone but not forgotten..

Yeah, I can still hear him whining "oh, we hate Guns N' Roses and major labels, so let's sign with Geffen, just like Guns N' Roses, but hopefully we won't sell any records"...

Spokesman for a generation, my a ss.

Went fishing for a couple hours this morning.  My buddy called me, he was out on his boat and said he had already caught five nice ones and couple shorts.  I wasn't prepared for fishing so said give me 45 minutes.  I scrambled around and found a rod and reel and tied on a new swivel to make it easy to change lures.

He picked me up at my neighbors dock across the street and we went back to the spot where he had caught the nice ones.  We both put on a "Ned Rig" and tried along a rocky bottom near shore.  We both got snagged a couple of times, but no fish.  Then we went several hundred yards away to a little point and bay and he caught two more.  One short and one nice 15 incher (all spotted bass).  Then it started to rain so we came in.  I didn't catch anything, but it was fun to get out on the lake again and rinse off some of my lures.

To each their own. If you like Nirvana, great.

I just got a bit turned off by reading all the railing he did against commercialism, while at the same time he didn't mind accepting the huge amounts of money that paid for his heroin.

When I go to my weekend jam I tend to wear a concert T-shirt and just grab the next one in my closet. Not intending  to make a statement about any band in particular. A few people made Cobain comments that I didn't register at the time. He did a couple of tunes that I liked at the time, but he was just one of many drug induced performers that impacted our music.

Don't take my ramblings too seriously 🙂

Cobain fooled us all with that one song cause he apparently did have a gun. There music struck a nerve with some and ruined a few carreres. I can take a song or two then Nirpvana gets old and sounds the same. To me Dave is still and will always be a drummer. The Foos are another band I just don’t get. My brother in law puts them on a pedestal.

Bought another hat for some odd reason.

I've probably got 60 of them already but I don't have a modern Stetson Whippet so why not.

How many X’s does it have? That’s all I know about Stetsons, the more X’s the more pimpin it supposed to be.
