kidblast
My 2006 SG Classic after the vibramate/bigsby mod. (A snap to install) This guitar has always maintained very stable tuning, adding this did not change that. I know some guys don't like these contraptions but.. as for me? I am diggin it...
Brian Krashpad
Looks good to me! Congrats. I have a trio of guitars with Bigsbys (one technically a fakesby), but not any of my Gibbies (though 2 are Gibby-related, being Epiphones). I tend to only occasionally actually use them, and when I do it tends to be for subtle shimmies. Or for a wankier flourish at song's end when I might be changing guitars anyhow. So the whole detuning angle has not been a big prob.
kidblast
ah wild kat and casino,, 2 staples of the p90 universe. that Dano is cool too. I'm not on them all the time, but they definitely come in handy to add some shimmer and depth to what we can do. I play in a trio, so there's a lot of "Space" for me to dwell in often. plus we do a few Johnny A Covers, you can't get there from here w/out at least one or two axes loaded with a Bigsby. I did notice the stock spring was a bit of a chore on this one. Luckily,, I had a soft touch spring handy, Put that in there, and that made a massive difference. it's good to have a well stocked parts draw... Black Dog
That's a nice looking SG. I like the look of a Bigsby. I only have one guitar with one though. I don't use it that much, but as you say when you need, you need it. I've never liked the Vibramate, but I've only tried it on a LP with a B7. the carved top and the Vibramate make it sit way too high up. But on a flat top like a SG with a B5 it's probably good to go. This one has no Vibramate.

You're observation about the virbramate is 100% correct, on the SG it does fit better with the flat top. however on the LP, it does not seem to have any negative effect on anything. it works great.. this is a 95 standard in wine red (it is dark.. almost looks oxblood or black in the photo.)

I have a standard (2012 Aged Cherry) with 490R 498T combo. They are alike guitars but WAY WAY different..... Lots of love for SGs in this house.
