I find the '61-65 sounds better to my ears. The Late 60's full face pickguard SG's had a much less wood under the guard - as most were routed same as a SG Custom for 3 PUs - between the wobbly "no ring" PUs mounted to the pick guard and much less wood under the guard, the SG's with full pickguard always sound thin to my ears Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
