What grit to sand an imperfection?

Recommended Posts

I own a 2018 Firebird in ebony. It's almost new, but it a problem where the fretboard started to dettach from the neck. I glued it, but it left a line with missing paint between the headstock and the fretboard. Pic: https://photos.app.goo.gl/1WhpHc73yAhjDsMM8

I applied some paint in the area, but it still feels rough. What sand paper grit should I use to polish, smooth and polish the area?

Any advice will help. Thanks!

Depending on how rough the transition area you worked on is you start out with a lower grit size (say 320 or lower) and move all the way up to a very fine one (2,000). Make sure to soak the sand paper in water thoroughly before.

Thanks! I will try with some fine grit first.
