Ledwalletjim Posted June 18, 2020 Posted June 18, 2020 (edited) Does anyone have any experience with these Ebony bridge pins from Crosby Audio? I'm thinking of replacing the ones on my G-45 standard with them but want to make sure they will fit properly? It lists the dimensions of them but not sure of the dimensions of the ones that came with my G-45.. https://crosbyaudio.com/collections/frontpage/products/pure-ebony-bridge-pins Edited June 18, 2020 by Ledwalletjim Quote
dhanners623 Posted June 18, 2020 Posted June 18, 2020 Not those pins in particular, but I’ve got two guitars with ebony pins (from StewMac) and really like them. Quote
zombywoof Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 I have a bunch of guitars with ebony pins. But the guitars are all 80 to 100 years old. I like the way they look but other than that never gave them much thought other than whether they fit properly or not. 1 Quote
Leonard McCoy Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 If it's not made of fossilized whale penis, I'm not stuffing it into my guitar. 1 1 Quote

QuestionMark Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 I only use wood bridge pins on all of my guitars. The only ones I’ve had problems with not fitting are the ones that have no vertical groove in them on the stem that goes into the guitar, where the string can align into. Even if the grooved one are tight it’s very easy to simply whittle or sand a small part of the stem so they fit. On the other hand, getting the non-grooved ones to fit, if they do not readily fit can be quite difficult to whittle down. I hope this helps! QM aka “Jazzman” Jeff 1 Quote
75 Hummingbird Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 Hello Jim ,do your self a favour and buy a digital caliper . Cost should be between 20 -40 bucks . You will be able to measure your existing string pins and compare to other specs . Calipers are handy to have for many uses . 1 Quote
