DoubleSixx
The Epiphones usually have the pre-notched triangle grooved bridges. I could be wrong.
led floyd9
how did you know the bridge is an epiphone???? It's not really Epiphone, but it's an epiphone style bridge. They look only slightly different to the Gibson bridges, so you need to see lots and lots of LP's to be able to tell which is an Epi bridge and which is Gibson. Not to mention the guitar also does not have a serial number beginning with CS, which all custom shop guitars have. It also has the "Made In USA" stamp, but no custom shop guitars have that stamp. Thundergod
you think somebody just screwed a pawn shop? this is so funny... maybe he doesnt even know it is not a fake, look at how he states that the SN info he gives is important and all... Poetic justice.
Manimal
This thing has every single sign of being a fake. Holy S! Not only the rosewood on the fretboard, but look at the binding going up the fretboard.......the frets go right over the binding. This thing is a disgrace
mojogood
A local pawn shop has a fake Martin that he swears is the real deal and he believes what he's saying. If I'd told him about it, I'd have gotten into an argument, so I didn't. BUYERS BEWARE!
sycephant
We've been spoiled lately by really good fakes lately. This one just seems pathetic compared to the others!
GuitarJunkie
how did you know the bridge is an epiphone???? The posts that the bridge is sitting on have slots for a screwdriver and are larger than a Gibson. Gibson bridges adjust with the thumbwheels. daveinspain
Also the cherry sunburst on this guitar is all wrong... Its way too heavy on the cherry and the burst gradient isn't right. Gibson would never paint a guitar like that. Thats the first thing that jumped out at me...

Thundergod
The first thing that jumps aout at anyone should be the weird looking, wrong color, wrong placement of everything in the headstock... when did gibson start using yellow? i ve seen lots of really hard to identify fakes, this one seems like one from months or years ago, dont know how people are so stupid as to go and blindly buy something without doing research... 800 bucks? you can buy a NEW, unused, full warranty carring vintage mahogany or SG faded with that money... so why go and buy something that you dont even know is a kafe, and you dont even know how many people have owned it! I guess there is a lot people around, with money to spend, and not a clue that there are fake guitars at all... weekend players (dont know the name for them in english, weekend players is the best translation i can think of for people that buy a guitar or whatever just to be "cool"). If that's true then mine is a fake. Mine is supposed to be a 2001. Somebody please let me know. Thanks Is it a LP Custom, or is it a signiature model? Only regular production Custom Shop guitars have the CS, I don't think sig. models do. More recent (I wish I knew exactly what year "more recent" guitars where) regular custom shop guitars have a serial# of CSYRRRR (so it means custom shop, last digit of the year, then the # of guitar built that year). But earlier ones (wish I knew when earlier was, too) either use Y9NNN or Y9NNNN (Y= last digit of the year it was built, 9= was on all "earlier" custom shop guitars, NNN or NNNN= number of guitar built that year depending if yours was in the thousands or hundreds). I'm not positive that all custom shop guitars don't have the "Made in USA" stamp, though. Hopefully this helps.
