I’m not sure what the factory specs call it, but the white binding on many Gibson guitars over time often turns into an antique or off white shade, even turning into a cool looking yellowish white shade on many older guitars.  That is not that unusual to occur, and may be why there are numerous different description of the binding color on acoustic Gibsons.

FYI, Gibson natural tops often change color over the years.  Sometimes darkening a bit with a cool orange’ish cast.

Thanks for the reply. I just bought a new 2017 j15 with the unstained maple neck yesterday. The binding is a little off-white and being a 2017 I wasn't sure if it had darkened a little over the three or four years, or, if they are/were made to look a little vintage...

All the clears they use have a yellow tint , even the Mohawk clear I use.   Over time between the resins in the wood and the clear. You will see the cast of yellow get darker.
