kidblast Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 I just read that about 2 minutes ago... A true American and a living legend right up till the end. RIP Charlie, You done good, rest well. Quote
brad1 Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Loved me some Charie Daniels! That dude could play the guitar, fiddle, banjo, you name it! First song I ever heard on the radio was "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". I was about 13 I think. And I was living in Georgia at the time. They played that song a lot back then around them parts. The one thing you could truly say about CD is he was authentic. He was himself. And he could write songs and sing them with the best of 'em. Thanks for all the great music, AND the great lyrics Charlie! RIP Quote
Sgt. Pepper Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 I gotta check before I fall into another trap . I fell for Paul Newman a week or so ago. If he is RIP Charlie. Is it just me or did the Devil play better than the fiddler in that song? 1 Quote
Retired Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 It's confirmed, Sgt. 83 and died from a stroke this morning. That's too bad. He was great. He will be missed. RIP. Quote
tx-ogre Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 (edited) I saw the CBD in Biloxi, MS back in the mid 1990s. Great concert. And a lot of great songs/albums to his credit. The Legend of Wooly Swamp is one of my favorite songs. Impressive career. RIP Charlie. Edited July 6, 2020 by tx-ogre Quote

Ennio Morricone passed away too. He wrote those Clint spaghetti western scores. I looked it up to he was in his 90's. 1 Quote
kelly campbell Posted July 7, 2020 Author Posted July 7, 2020 I agree that the devil sounded to me like he played better in the song but the song says he lost..I just always thought it was me , thanks for the affirmation. Quote
