Pinch
Anything I need to consider if I'm to put two Dirty Fingers in a guitar? I see slight differences in output (neck/bridge) in certain Gibson guitar specs, even when it's the same pickup, in this case D.F. Not sure why. Electronics was never my department. jdgm
Put the higher output one in the bridge position. Neck pickup is (usually) directly under a harmonic node point so is always louder.
Pinch
So they always differ in output if I buy two of the same pickups?

In a pair the bridge pickup output will be (should be) slightly higher. And most mfrs differentiate between bridge and neck pickups of the same model. Forum members please correct me if I'm wrong!! Pinch
Not the Dirty Fingers, I'm pretty sure there's only one, i.e. no sets or DF R/ DF T. No sets at retailers. Correct me if I'm wrong
kidblast
Kinda thought it was always like jdgm says,, usually they should be in pairs (Neck/Bridge) with the neck having a bit more beans to it. Pinch
Weird. Seems a lot of reviews say bridge only (doesn't say on the Gibson site), but there's two of them in the 2017 Vs? Dave F
From Gibson site, position: Both https://www.gibson.com/Gear/Humbucker-Pickups/IMDF-DB The pickup's overwound yet balanced coils feature adjustable pole pieces, which allows you to fine tune the output of each individual string. The Dirty Fingers also features shielded, four-conductor wiring for series, parallel or split coil operation and is fully wax potted to eliminate any chance of microphonic feedback. Output: 14 Position: Both Magnet: Ceramic Wiring: 4-Conductor Details Gibson's Dirty Fingers pickups are also grabbing attention of hi-def shredders everywhere! Unique sounds, uniquely Gibson

Thank you for that! Excellent! Putting 4-conductor wired pickups into a guitar that originally came with 2-conductor wired pickups - anyone know anything about that? Problem? Thanks again, Dave. jdgm
I should probably shut up by now but...... 2 of the wires get tied off/soldered together and ignored...? If you are not wiring for (as it says) series/parallel/split coil. Which can get much more complicated. Plenty of wiring diagrams on the net. S Duncan and Dimarzio have good ones - https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=guitar+pickup+wiring+diagrams+guides

I don't know if the middle position that blends the two volume pots requires any special attention.
