Firebird Neck

Recommended Posts

As usual I'm plotting my next move and there's a Firebird I've been looking at for quite some time.  Earlier today I ready an article about "Firebird Neck" and how the weight of the banjo tuners could cause the necks to snap easily, even if they're in the case.

I took a much closer look at this guitar and not only is it beat up but look at that neck, I don't think that's a relfection.

Shame as that's exactly the color my old one was so that's what drew me to it.

I wonder if it turns into this if you take the strings off:

That was a Martin HD-28 which showed up a few years back.  That pic is day 2 after I changed the strings.

That would be a pass for me....

Mine has Steinberger's which are amazingly accurate Tuners... I've had mine for about 5-6 years with no Neck issues..

It looks like they are just finish cracks, but it's hard to tell from the pictures. I also see markings from rubber on a wall hanger that has reacted with the nitro.

I'm not buying this one or even considering it.

Once I started looking at the pictures it was what are you, nuts?  $3700 or something crazy like that.
