Looking to build my first guitar from scratch

I can’t say too much about the sound because I can’t crank my amp here at my apartment. It sounds great unplugged. Loud, clear, and spanky. I feel like it’s gonna sound more-Tele like than my American standard Tele because of the bridge and SD broadcaster bridge pickup.

I checked that the electronics are all working and that’s fine, but I won’t really hear it till this Wednesday night

All my fretwork paid off though. It really performs well across the fretboard. Im also really happy with the finish and consider it a big success overall

Awesome..   Good to see someone else trying this stuff.. You can now make what ever guitar with spec that you want exactly..

You need to go for a build with a back and a fancy top now... 🙂  Gives you a chance to do some chambering or al least route for the wiring before the top goes on.

I am hoping that 50mm London Plane comes in this week. When it does I will book a workshop day and go at it...

Have you thought about trying a semi hollow build?

Well I have kind of done that before I just didnt put any sound holes in it so you wouldnt know...  But one of my next planned builds will have some kind of sound hole.. I am trying to come up with something original but its really hard.

Do the sound holes add that much to the tone? I know my Casino unplugged sounds more like an acoustic. I played a Lucille in a guitar shop that didn't have that tone.

Obviously very subjective but I would say it makes it more airy if that makes sense...

What I do know about sound holes on electric guitars of that it makes them more prone to feedback when playing on stage.

Thanks for your interest. I just moved to a new house so I’ve been really swamped lately.

One cool thing is that I now have a garage I can build in at home. I’m going to build a cabinet for my wife this weekend but once I get accommodated and a few chores taken care of I’m jumping back into the guitar builds. I’m really excited about the next build with the 5 piece neck
