ShaunC Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 (edited) Hi all, Going to put this case up for sale but want to describe it accurately. Was a gift and bought separate from my guitar so other than knowing it's a used Gibson original, have no idea of its age. Any clues in the photos? Help appreciated. jdgm Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 They started using these in the late 80s AFAIK. Think they were made by TKL. Here is an old thread on it. Quote
Bluenotesharp Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 Late 80’s up to 1990 has USA under Gibson. Late 70’s early 80’s and modern ones now just say Gibson or Gibson gear. Quote
Grog Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 It looks identical to the case my 2015 Les Paul Studio Deluxe came in.......... They were brown with pinkish lining when they started using these cases. Then for a number of years they were black with mostly white linings, (I have one with grey lining). This is the next version used for guitars made in Nashville. The Memphis made guitars were in similar cases but the logo & interior were slightly different. Quote
wind_stopper Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 (edited) The fact it is made in Canada must indicate a certain age - current cases look the same, but are made in China. A Canadian case in good condition might sell probably for more than a brand new one made in China? For me Canadian, if you were living in my town and the case was in good condition, I'd pay new price for it, just because it was made in Canada. Edited February 27, 2021 by wind_stopper Quote
