Help IDing this vintage Gibson (?) tailpiece please!

Recommended Posts

This tailpiece was salvaged from a destroyed 1947-65 Gibson ES guitar or a L50, not sure which (it's a long story ...). But I am looking to sell this to somebody but am just not sure A) that it's genuine Gibson. B) That it's actually a vintage tailpiece. C) Which guitar it came off of, or D) It it's nickel or chrome (it has a yellow sheen to the unexposed portion that leads me to believe it is nickel). Because of all this I'm just not comfortable representing it as a vintage Gibson tailpiece. I don't want to sell it and have an unhappy buyer. Is there anyone out there in Vintage Gibsonland who has some deep knowledge about tailpiece that can help me definitively ID this thing? I thank you in advance if there is. Also, I can't seem to post more than one pic to this site and it's frustrating. If someone wants more pics I can email. Thank you!
