We rarely get them in the house here in Florida, but when we do, I invert a cup over it, slide a piece of cardboard under the cup trapping the scorp inside. Then I walk it out to the wildlife preserve about 300' behind my house. I figure it'll never find it's way back. Notes
Californiaman 384 Report post Posted October 22, 2020 I actually wanted to keep it as a pet. The family wasn't up to the idea, so I let it go.

ghost_of_fl 288 Report post Posted October 22, 2020 They're cool but if one crawled into my shoe, I would be a little more than upset.
Californiaman 384 Report post Posted October 22, 2020 Oh hell yeah! That's why if I leave a pair of shoes outside the front door, I always check, shake and slap my shoes to see what falls out. Haven't found one yet.
Notes_Norton 566 Report post Posted October 23, 2020 Better (or less) bad a scorpion than a brown recluse spider. And shaking your shoes will not necessarily make the recluse fall out
ghost_of_fl 288 Report post Posted October 24, 2020 The brown recluse is nasty and tiny so they can go unnoticed. We don't have too many bad critters in my area. Just black widow spiders and timber rattle snakes for the most part. Never seen either personally but they are out there.

merciful-evans 950 Report post Posted October 25, 2020 This morning: Found this photo I took in December 2012. It was still in RAW (never processed). The dark version is original, and the lighter one post-exposed. I'm undecided about which I prefer Its Portsmouth from the top of Portsdown Hill
Brucebubs 104 Report post Posted October 26, 2020 I think I prefer the lighter version - loses a touch of contrast but there's more detail visible which improves the foreground too.
Tman 398 Report post Posted October 29, 2020 The moon, the setting sun and a b!tch all in one panoramic. 5 minutes later. She really likes to look out into the valley when the sun is setting. Pretty much every night.
