merciful-evans
This is St, Marys, the church Cherry goes to. I've photographed it for many years. It s odd because its sited within the walls of a medieval fortress (Portchester Castle).
merciful-evans
The church was built during the 1120s by the Normans. The yew tree might be older. Most old churches have yew trees next to them.
merciful-evans
This is not my picture. I've used it just to show the situation by the shore. The picture was taken from atop the castle's keep.

They were associated with bronze age burial grounds.
Californiaman
Some artists really strike a chord with me. I took this picture because of the delicate and intricate patterns all over this lizard.
Californiaman
This gecko was created by Jon Anderson. He works with polymer clay. Same with the Horn Toad. But there's nothing more beautiful than the real thing.
Californiaman
Horn Toads are really lizards. They are found throughout the southwest United States. Some consider them scarce. I seem to find them often enough on my hikes.

I bought her one of those 'Mood Rings' once - it turned black as soon as she put it on .. then it caught fire .. my fault again apparently. Californiaman
I like that photo above in black & white. Driving south on U.S. 101 there's a vista point along the Gaviota coast in Santa Barbara county. The Amtrak Pacific Surfliner rout goes right by here. There are many places along this stretch of the county with pristine beaches to explore, fish, and surf.

Californiaman
I took this photo at 2:30 pm last Thursday afternoon at Avila Beach. It was so overcast, everything was gray.
merciful-evans
I'm unhappy about all the facebook images disappearing from here. these are from Imgur Bembridge Isle of Wight early this year (before Covid) from the footbridge to the Lifeboat (rescue) building.
