SheWalksLABR
Hi all So I've recently noticed tiny chips of cherry red lacquer appearing around my room, in places where I play my '08 SG bass. Some lacquer has been chipping off around the neck pickup, but I don't know where else it is chipping off and I don't know why it is. Is this common? jdgm
I don't think it's common. Have a look at the edges of the headstock. If it is chipping anywhere else - other than around the pickup - it should be obvious. How about when you set it down? Can you post a photo? (We all use photo-sharing sites for this, which give you a link to copy and paste into the text of your post). Best wishes...

merciful-evans
No I don't think its common. Is the pickup properly secured down? Is it a covered pickup? Maybe turn the volume down? Sgt. Pepper
Never had anything chip off any of my axes unless I smacked or bumped them into something.
