Classic Rock Lyrics

Can you name a classic rock song by just reading a few of the words?
Here's one I love playing, see if anyone can name it without googling it!

Oh yeah
Susan and her brother, Charles the grinning boy
Put me in the backseat, and they took me for a ride
Yeah, the radio was on, can't you dig the locomotion
Kingdoms of the radio, 45 R-P-M
Too much revolution then

Each night, The covers were unfolded
Each night, It's Suzy's turn to ride
While Charles, the one they call her brother
Covers on his eyes, murmurs in the background
It will be time

It's past midnight said Charles the grinning boy
And looking at me greedily, said it's 1964

Try this -

Lime and limpid green, a second scene
A fight between the blue you once knew
Floating down, the sound resounds
Around the icy waters underground
Jupiter and Saturn, Oberon, Miranda and Titania
Neptune, Titan, stars can frighten

First Kansas album I ever got has to be Closet Chronicles.

I saw them on the Power Tour when Steve "Fukin" Morse was their guitarist at an Amusement Park. Note to group if your playing an Amusement Park your career is over.

  • ....
  • I went outside and hopped in a yellow cab
  • I went out the other side and this englishman said fab
  • As I leapt over this hotdog stand and chariot that stood
  • across the street from a building advertising brotherhood
  • I barged through the front door like a hobo sailor does
  • It was just a funeral parlor, man asked who I was....

Good catch!Ā  off Point of Know Return (5th album)Ā  I saw them twice. Both with all original members.

On of those shows was n the middle ofĀ winter,Ā Ā the weather was threatening snow all day, and it eventually came..Ā  We drove home in what was just about a white out,Ā  Ā I thought we were never ever getting home from that one.Ā  Good times man,,, good times..

Was rocking this last night.

Highways and dance halls
A good song takes you far
Your write about the moon
And you dream about the stars
Blues in old motel rooms
Girls in daddy's car
You sing about the nights
And you laugh about the scars
Coffee in the morning cocaine afternoons
You talk about the weather
And you grin about the rooms
Phone calls long distance
To tell how you've been
Forget about the losses, you exaggerate the wins

someone will know this one I bet..

And the sandcastle virtues are all swept away
In the tidal destruction the moral melee
The elastic retreat rings the close of play
As the last wave uncovers the newfangled way

That my friends would be Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick!
