Please send Surfpup my best wishes.   I miss his input.

Sure I like country music
I like mandolins
But right now I need a telecaster
Through a Vibro-lux turned up to ten

[thumbup]

I haven't had much contact with him in a few years now.  Not sure what happened with him, just busy or what.

He's doing well, his band has been gigging  a little in Florida. Jc & I contact each other semi regularly.  as far as the forum, he just got burned out.

What’s a typical drummer?

"I can pick you up on practice nights".

Doesn't have a car. Has car but no gas money.   Girlfriend can't give him a ride.  Can't find his license.

Comedy, based on the experiences of most garage band kids long time ago.

That left me scratching my head.

That was about the most boring drum solo I ever heard/saw.

Ech - I could do without the bubblegum.....he's just showing off here - it's all about the pedal work.  He can do  a lot better than that.  I've seen him.

He is a '1st call' fusion guy, having spent much time with Funkadelic, the Breckers, George Duke, Dave Sanborn, Scofield, Mclaughlin, Mike Stern and many more as well as Santana.  Not so much a drum soloist but a tremendous groove player.

OK then -

"Hey, drummer, drummer, can you give me that beat
Can you give me that beat, got to move my feet
Guitar player been all around the world
But he can't play a lick for looking at the girls"

Speakina great drum solos...

"Gotta find me a way To take me back to yesterday How can I ever hope to forget you

Won't you show me a place Where I can hid my lonely face I know you'll only break my heart if I let you..."

Next line is title.  Astounding drum solo by a human freight train on the live stuff.

"I know a mouse, and he hasn't got a house
I don't know why - I call him Gerald
He's getting rather old, but he's a good mouse

You're the kind of girl that fits in with my world
I'll give you anything, everything if you want things"

"Our father high in heaven, smile down upon your son
Who's busy with his money games, his women and his gun
Oh Jesus save me

And the unsung Western hero, killed an Indian or three,
And then he made his name in Hollywood
To set the white man free
Oh Jesus save me"

Oh girl, electric witch, you are limp, in societies ditch

you are visually fine, oh yes you are, mentally dying

Oh boy, just like a boat, you are sunk, but somehow you float

you are mentally weak, oh yes you are, but so much you speak

Oh God, high in your fields above earth, come and be real for us

you with your mind, oh yes you are, beautifully fine

•••• Hmmmm, I would have thought one of the guys from across the pond would have known the artist on this one ••••

Poor little darling with a chip out of her heart
It's like acting in a movie when you got the wrong part
Getting your kicks in another girl's bed
And it was only last Tuesday they found you in the subway dead

And who could you call your friends down in Soho?
One or two middle-aged dykes in a Go-Go
And what do you expect from a sixteen year old yo-yo
And hey, hey, hey, oh don't you know?

All the young girls love Alice, tender young Alice they say.   Elton
