Really don't mind if you sit this one out. Then a big guitar chord gets played.

This one ain't easy. But I bet RCT knows the song,

It made my heart hunger                                              To make my years younger

Old Father Time's                                                made up his mind and circumstance

Good times and bad times,                               Each weaves its own web there's no second chance

I went home with a waitress the way I always do

How was I to know she was with the Russians, too?

Derringer covered it but the original was Warren Zevon. The s-hit has hit the fan. Lawyer's, Guns And $.

Get the idea cross around the track
Underneath the flank of thoroughbred racing chasers.
Getting the feel as a river flows.
Would you like to go 'n shoot the mountain masses?
And here you stand no taller than the grass sees.
And should you really chase so hard.
The truth of sport plays rings around you

If you know the next line its the song title.

Someone has got to know this classic:

Ah, racin'
I can hear my tires scream
Dodge City, here comes the lights
I thought racin' was my life, Dodge City
Racin's not my, life

Had to google it as well, now that I know, they weren't even in my short list of guesses

someone will know this one I bet..

And the sandcastle virtues are all swept away
In the tidal destruction the moral melee
The elastic retreat rings the close of play
As the last wave uncovers the newfangled way

Jethro Tull, Thick as a Brick.  Ah, I see someone else beat me to it.

heh.  Oh yeah.  I think we've all had the Night Wines.

Here's a great old lyric:

...Chasin dreams of silver streams

And ladies in the shower...

Love that song.  Surfpup is supposed to play pedal steel on that one in our Outlaws Tribute Band someday.

edit:  It was also the song Billy Jones was most proud of.  Go figure!

Do you have a drummer for the band yet? If not I'd be happy to be in your tribute band as, at least, one of the drummers.  I can be Monte. 😃

You are in!  If only Surfpup would come around sometimes.  It'll be a long trip from Florida, but we'll rent a big van to get out there.

Awesome!

I currently live in California but did much of my growing up in Georgia. I may just end up moving back there upon retirement.

So you could just bolt down I 75 from Jersey and pick me me up on the way to Florida.  😄

I only have Playin' To Win on vinyl. Another  Mutt Lange produced album.

That's one of their better albums in my opinion.

I have most of their stuff on vinyl.  I used to have Hurry Sundown on 8 track.

Please send Surfpup my best wishes.   I miss his input.

Sure I like country music
I like mandolins
But right now I need a telecaster
Through a Vibro-lux turned up to ten

Soon as this vaccinationizing is a reality and she is out of that job of hers we'll be on our way to FL.  If you are going to be a typical drummer, yeah, I can pick you up on practice nights.
