bbellas
Hello all- Does anyone have any advice on what replacement knobs would fit and work best on a 1950 Gibson ES300 ? There are three knobs needed - 2 for the volume and 1 for the master tone- Thank you !

bbellas
thanks for the quick response- I tried some standard ones from Guitar Center but they dont fit ? not sure if the pegs are a little thicker on these older guitars ? bbellas
update - the pots on my guitar are totally smooth so they dont have any splines - I am assuming I would need a set screw knob? just not sure if the original knob on the 1950 Gibson ES300 used set screw knobs ? mihcmac
The asian knobs are metric a little smaller USA Gibson knobs are larger but intended for splined shaft, USA Telecaster knurled knobs use set screws and should work. codename
My dad's 1951 ES 300 (now my brother's) is the first guitar I played . It too needs knobs as 1 of the original got lost due to the post hole deterioration causing a loose fit. The remaining 2 were damaged from glue being used to keep them on . I looked for the original style, can't find them anywhere . They are deep barrel knobs (gold) with no set screw or splines . I drilled out some Les Paul knobs to fit but had to touch up the paint after drilling. I used black knobs to make color match up easy . Not ideal but they worked .
