Dave Shaw
I have a Gibson Hummingbird that I purchased used in December 1974. I was told it was a 1963, but have never been able to cross the serial number. (See photo) The numbers are stamped into the headstock as follows: 614502 MADE IN U.S.A. 2 I understand that the 'MADE IN USA' stamp was begun in 1970, but when I purchased it, the guitar and case showed far more wear than would have been expected for just a few years. As a matter of fact, when I bought the guitar, the case was falling apart so I ordered another, identical case. Can anyone help with this one?
