Beatnik57
GOTW27 - I'm almost certain you can't buy the ones with the combo lock by themselves. Even Gibson doesn't sell them. GC and the other big guys all sell the non-locking variety for $142, and some guy on ebay claims to sell the genuine locks for I think $38, but even if you went this route, I'm not sure how you'd change out the hardware. Eracer_Team
read the Gibson FAQ,,, the question reads "The combination lock on my case won’t open, how can I open it without damaging or removing the lock?" http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Support/FAQs/# Answer: If the combination was somehow changed, try shining a flashlight into the spaces where the thumbwheels turn. As you rotate the wheel, you'll see a small notch once it gets to the correct number. Line up all three thumbwheels in this way, and it should open. That's scary, a $1500+ guitar and the lock can be opened by looking for the notches.... hmmm

When my 8 y/o son has his buddies over, I lock mine to keep them from messing with it, but I wouldn't put much trust in it beyond that.
Eracer_Team
So true, anybody that wants to 'lift' you guitar ain't going to be too worried about the case having a lock on it.

GOTW27
Have you tried ebay? Yeah. They get unreasonable near the end of the auction. I've been burned on Ebay too many times too.
