moedecker
I want to raise the bridge just a bit so I can play slide on the VII. It looks like the original bridge bolts are to short. It's gold hardware. Anybody know where I can get some longer bolts? Thanks
neverkn0wsb357
We’re you not able to find something here that would work? https://www.stewmac.com/SiteSearch/?search=Studs Maybe you could replace the bridge for one that you know would fit on your guitar and sit higher? Dub-T-123
If your guitar has an ABR-1 bridge then you basically need a longer 6-32 all thread rod. Or perhaps you can back the existing all thread rod out of the hole a bit to give some extra range. The chuck of a drill is a convenient tool to insert or remove an all thread rod as long as you don’t mar the threads. If you do mar the threads you can find a 6-32 die at just about any hardware store
Dub-T-123
Here’s a link to a product sold specifically for Gibson guitars by Faber. https://faberusa.com/product/3082-xl-extra-long-abr-1-6-32-bridge-studs/ Personally if I were replacing the studs on an ABR-1 I would use brass since that’s what Gibson used to use. If you use stainless steel or something I’d expect the sound to be brighter
