J-45 12. Not to be picky, but wouldn't that technically be the equivalent of an early B-45 12?

He and Richard Ashcroft are the reason I own my J200. I'm curious to see how they price his J150. I'm curious to see the Tom Petty J200 as well. zombywoof
I got me a 1961 B45-12 courtesy of one of our members. And yeah, they were a J45 with a wide neck and humongous headstock slapped on. At the time Gibson came out with these Harmony was the only U.S. company even offering a stock 12 string guitar. Gibson transitioned to the square shoulder version sometime in 1962. They used three different bridge configurations which I have never been able to nail down to specific years and in late-1964 they went with a heavier bracing to keep the guitars from twisting themselves apart, Originally Gibson shipped these with a double G string instead of the octave string. In terms of marketing though it would make more sense to go with J45-12 which is a description of the model rather than the old Kalamazoo model designation. It allows everyone to quickly conjure up an image of what they are talking about. Edited February 4, 2021 by zombywoof
