2008 Standard Master Vol/Blend re-wire?

I'm curious how easy or difficult or possible it would be to do a re-wire on my 2008 LP Standard, considering the new-style electronics. What I want to do is, instead of having 2 volume controls, I want to have 1 master volume, and have the other be a blender between the 2 pickups. What do y'all think? Has anybody done this?

It would work only when you have the switch in the middle position... and then, you would have to use the master volume a lot more than you would if you had 2 volumes (with 2 vol controls you can do the same... middle position, just lower one or the other).

Just my opinion.

That's what I want. My problem is when switching from one pickup to another, I can't tell easily what the volume settings are w/ 2 volumes. With one master, I know where it's at all the time. My idea is to turn the other vol pot into a blender between the 2 pups, in middle position. Seems to me, this will yield the same tones as 2 volumes in the middle position.

My question is, is this possible with the new electronics in the '08 Standard?

I guess you would have to take out that plate and revert everything to "normal standard" wiring. Don't know how the pickups will take it seeing as they have those quick conectors (if I am not mistaken).

I think another option would be to use one of the tone pots as master volume... but thats as messy as the first option.

What about knob position markers?

Knob markers would be o.k., but I also want to be able to set my blend in the middle p'up position, but still have lots of volume when switching. Also, I'd have to look down to see the knob markers. W/ a master vol, I know where it's set without looking.

C'mon, has no one on this forum messed with the new electronics on the '08???
