gibsonrene
Is this guitar better than regular standard? SOmebody here is selling it for crazy price. What is the difference between 2019 60s and 2015 standard anniversary? I have 2015 LP STD so I wonder what are the differences beside the neck
Pinch
Standards from different years have different specs. Different pickups, chambered/weight relieved or not, stuff like that.

I would much rather have a 2015 version, mostly because of the adjustable nut & neck width. Cases are better too. One looks to the past, the other had its sights on the future. 2015 http://legacy.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2015/USA/Les-Paul-Standard.aspx 2019 https://troglysguitarshow.com/2019-gibson-les-paul-standard-60s/ 2019 (not 60s specific) http://legacy.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2019/USA/Les-Paul-Standard-2019.aspx

It's four years between 2015 and 2019, which means for every year, the Standard gets 25 times better. This would account for the rising prices discussed in another thread. No, I don't have anything better to do right now.

SteveFord
But is the R8 100x better than the 2019?

Sgt. Pepper
My dog is named Ginger. She is a small 15lb terrier and has no fleas. My next door neighbor is a retired Navy Master Diver. By Sgt Prepper logic this means that the seller thinks the guitar should be 100x more expensive and the buyer should be interested to pay 100x more for it....very interesting

IanHenry
The 2019 Les Paul Standard 60's is closer to a LP Traditional but with a smaller neck. A 2019 Les Paul 50's is basically a Traditional renamed.
SteveFord
My post vanished into the Twilight Zone so here's Take 2: I have either a 2019 or 2020 Standard 60s neck and it's no weight relief, slim neck, pick ups which are particular about height and the build quality is excellent. The secret is the factory bought some light bulbs. I would not hesitate to buy another one if I was in the market. It's probably 100x not as good as an R8 but is 100x better than a 2015 as others have noted. The archived models show the 2019 as having the asymmetrical slim neck and weight relief but I think they made a mid-year change to different necks/pick ups/no weight relief sometime in 2019. http://legacy.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2019/USA/Les-Paul-Standard-2019.aspx

SteveFord
Correction: It may or may not be 100x not as good as something else or 100x better than something else. From my limited experience the recent LP Standards are very good guitars. Pricing in the US looks to be around two grand (give or take). https://reverb.com/p/gibson-les-paul-standard-60s-2019-2021
