New Slim Harpo "Lovell" ES-330 OR USA Epiphone Casino Vintage Sunburst?

Recommended Posts

Updating my own post here. Someone found a USA Casino in the wild and posted some very detailed photos on the Epiphone subreddit. They are using a different bridge in this one, not the cheap wire bridge from the $500-600 Casinos. Very good news.

Also note: the Slim Harpo is now showing as sold out on Gibson's site. Whether it returns is anyone's guess, but if you missed out on the Slim Harpo, one of the USA Casinos is likely a just as satisfying alternative.

It doesn't say  on the site its a limited run. It could just be they have sold all they made and need to make more cause new guitar and used guitar sales are crazy right now.

There is one for sale on Reverb and the guy wants over 4k for it.

As a guy who actually got to play a USA Casino, I can't imagine any guitar being nicer.

I just like the darker sunburst on the Slim Harpo compared to the (darker shade) Casino, and also prefer the black pick guard on the Slim instead of the white pick guard on the Epi, which looks a little odd on the Casino - though obviously a quick and easy swap.

Some fella is selling a Slim Harpo on Reverb for 4500 under the notion that it was only limited to 60 or 75 guitars produced, total. That sounds like fiction to me, anyone know why Gibson would limit a guitar to such a small number or is this guy telling tales?

The website doesn't state its limited unlike the Chuck Berry, Tom Petty, and Jimi Hendrix models which state how many will be made.
