Floating LP pickguard

Worst case scenario, you buy a new pickguard for cheap. IIRCC there's USUALLY no gap, but I also know Gibson plastic parts can be a bit wonky. 

If it doesn't bother you when playing, you can just leave it be. You're always going to be able to buy LP replacement pickguards, until the end of time. So no sweat. 

But I know how it is. New Guitar Worry. It's taxing, to put it mildly.
