1997 explorer toggle switch question

I have a 1997 Korina explorer that I hadn't played regularly in a few years, I recently took it in for a setup and to have the electronics checked out because the toggle switch or pickups had an issue or a short.  When I got it back the toggle switch seems to work but now in Middle position with one pickup on zero I get no sound.  I've been reading that that may be correct on Gibson's but memory serves that even with one pickup at zero in the middle position there was volume coming out.  Trying to understand if they fixed it incorrectly or if my memory of how it used to work is incorrect.

When the Switch is in mid position and one pickup at zero, it is normal for it to shut everything off. Its just the way that type of circuit it works.

Oh, nice looking Explorer......
