Quick Question

I own a Gibson 58 korina reissue flying v and my friend just bought a Epiphone 58 Reissue korina flying v custom shop. We A B the guitars through the same amp and I'll tell you the Epiphone actually sounded better and felt better. I guess my question is what is the real difference between the two guitars?? Thanks for your input!!

The thing with guitars each one is slightly different and each has to be judged on its own merits..

You could take ten Gibson 58 V reissues in a row, all made the same time by the same people with the same hardware and yet each one will feel and sound slightly different.. Some you would like, some you wouldnt.

Its because even cheaper guitars are still mostly hand finished, especially when it comes to the necks. Then when you take the tiny differences in the electronics (pickup windings and pot/cap values) and even the exact neck angle it all makes a small difference that adds up to a big difference to the player..

Can you find cheap guitars that feel and sound as good to you as expensive guitars.. Yup...

If a $500 dollar guitar sounds and fells better to you than a $1500 guitar, then it sounds and feels better to you, and as Brad said one is made in China (Epi) and one in the USA (Gibson).

Hmmm........
Time for a limerick then.

An Epiphone versus Gibson Flying V
a perplexing and vexing quandary
One was made in China
The other 200 miles west of North Carolina
You keep the Epiphone and give the Gibson to me!

Okay, I'm gonna shut up now.

There once was an Epi from China;

And a Gibson from  near Carolina;

Sounded better to you ?
