Benoit Trow
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I have a "near mint" '69 SG Standard that I've owned for 16 years. I'm the 2nd. owner and the wiring, etc. is untouched. When I bought the guitar, it came with a rectangular Wurlitzer case which I presumed not to be original. Recently, however, I saw another '69 SG for sale and it too has a rectangular case although, it does say Gibson on it. Could my case possibly be the original? Thanks! lous1952
If it's orange or purple inside, it could be original. Gibson sold several different cases in the late '60s-early '70s, and dealers gave out (or sold) whatever they could get away with. Post a picture and I'll let you know. Benoit Trow
Thanks Lou S! Beautiful and stunningly clean '65by the way. The interior of the case is indeed a "faded" orange, now almost yellow and, as I said, says Wurlitzer under where the handle is. If you send me your e-mail, I'll send you some photos. Cheers, Trow
lous1952
Hi- Thanks for the kind words. It's better if you post them here for educational purposes. I'm sure that are people here that want to see the various cases that were available then.
