Hello from New Jersey

Hello All,

Like so many here, started playing guitar in high school in the 70's and a few years beyond, then stopped when life got in the way.  Started up again about 20 years ago when one of my kids found the guitar a closet.  Since then was able to amass 12 guitars of various brands (Fender, Yamaha, Teye, Epiphone, Gibson, PRS, etc).  Hope to be able to contribute something of value once in a while with the membership of this fine forum.

Regards,

Hi Sgt, I was born in St. Elizabeth Hosp, but never left NJ.  Did have a job before I retired that took me to Europe and S.E. Asia  for a while.

BTW, great sense of humor with the "Etc. Guitar Company".

Yes, Exit 135.  I do remember Guitar Trader in Red Bank, also Cranford Guitar oddly enough now located in Garwood.

The wife has a lot of family in Pa around the Clarks-Summit & Dallas areas.

Which Exit?

You probably remember Guitar Trader in Red Bank.

I stayed in Red Bank a few times when when I was in the Coast Guard and was working out at Sandy Hook working on a CG Patrol Boat.

Man I miss a fresh sack of White Castle's.

The Navy and Coast Guard took me all over the world. Lived in Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Japan, and have been all the around the Caribbean Islands and have been to Mexico, Panama, Korea, Thailand, UAE and Bahrain.  I took myself to Switzerland and Spain and Canada

First, hats off to you sir for your service.  Wow Sgt. Pepper, extensive travel resume!  It's great to travel on somebody else's dime.  I worked for big Pharma and used to do regular trips to P.R, staying in the company house at Dorado Beach (easy 3 hour flight home on weekends).  Had a year-long assignment in Singapore with two 3 weeks trips back home.  then a few shorter gigs (about 1 month each) in Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, France and Italy throughout the years.  Always wanted to return to some of those places with the family and finally did so about 8 years ago to Spain, France and Italy.

As for White Castle, we have one in town a few blocks away.  That's a meal that will stay with you for a few hours, if you know what I mean.

After I eat a sack I offend myself.

Welcome to the Forums!

Spent many hours driving the New Jersey Turnpike over the years going back and forth to home.

Nice. I was on The USS Curts (FFG-38) and stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. I was and Electrician's Mate in both services, and retired from the USCG as an EMCS.

My older brother was in navy from 1983-2003, worked for admiral Bull as a yeoman on the midway and coral sea. He worked at the pentagon until his office got destroyed on 911 after that he worked for chief of chaplains, then retired. Works for a defense contractor now.

The Midway was in Yokosuka when I was there. My ship was in the Midway Battle Group - Commander Destroyer Squadron 15. I was there from '89 - '91.
