bluezguy
Greetings, Does anyone know what brand of tuners are on my 2015 J-45TV? They are OE. My EB &G can't take it when I get all dynamic on her. Thx

Dave F
These would be my guess. Copy of some old Kluson's https://www.stewmac.com/parts-and-hardware/tuning-machines/solid-peghead-guitar-tuning-machines/golden-age-restoration-tuners-for-solid-peghead-guitar-with-scallop-end.html Edited May 23, 2021 by Dave F

MorrisrownSal
Are those even OEM? I would have expected: https://www.stewmac.com/parts-and-hardware/tuning-machines/solid-peghead-guitar-tuning-machines/kluson-3-on-a-plate-deluxe-series-tuning-machines.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=2021-05-gp&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrdfJ8rjf8AIVsWxvBB2tnQAKEAQYASABEgIvSvD_BwE or https://www.stewmac.com/parts-and-hardware/tuning-machines/solid-peghead-guitar-tuning-machines/gotoh-vintage-style-3-on-plate-tuners.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=2021-05-gp&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrdfJ8rjf8AIVsWxvBB2tnQAKEAQYAyABEgLR9PD_BwE or https://www.stewmac.com/parts-and-hardware/tuning-machines/solid-peghead-guitar-tuning-machines/golden-age-vintage-style-3onplate-tuners.html

philfish
Not about the tuners but in the link that Boyd put up, the pick guard came with the guitar lose not attached. See bottom photo
bluezguy
Good call DaveF The OE factory 3 on a plate tuners are StewMac Golden Era scalloped nickel open backs. I'm ordering the 'gold' Waverly set. Unbelievable price but, if they are good enough for Tony Rice - they are good enough for me! 🤣 Edited May 25, 2021 by bluezguy

Yes - according to Gibson customer service 10/13/24, they state they ARE Gotohs. Problem is; I could not find Gotohs that looked like these anywhere. Stew-Mac does have these... which I don't want ... they 'drag' & 'jerk'. Gibson CS also said, they indiscriminately used both Golden Era (stew mac) as well as Gotoh on TV models. WTF??? I still want to find premium tuners to fit without re-drilling hole sizes.
G Man
I couldn't get rid of the Golden Age 3-on-a-plate-tuners fast enough when I got my 2015 J45TV. Decided I was a function over form guy on this one and went ahead and replaced them with Waverley's. Yes, you can see the indent in the finish from the old tuners, but to me, it just looks like about every other. vintage Gibson I have seen that has had it's tuners replaced, and they work much much better. Only needed to drill one extra hole per tuner, a little tape on the drill bit prevents you from drilling too deep, overall a pretty straightforward job. Oh yeah, also had to order the right bushings for the Waverleys. Edited October 14 by G Man
duluthdan
G Man that looks outright scary. Trying to get them straight, and keep them straight, along with the whole drilling thing, even down to the details like having to replace bushings. Everything here screams to me “don’t even try”. You will mess it up. And I know I would. Hats off to you on a superb install, that looks magnificent !
Dave F
How about these? Searching these numbers don't get the result shown. Edited October 14 by Dave F
