Bus Stop Rat Bag . . . Ha Ha Charade You Are.

The Final Cut to me is really a Waters solo album with the other 2 guys as Rogers back up band. As much as I can't stand Rog the band after he left to me was just really David Gilmour solo albums with the other two Floyd guys.

It’s my favorite PF album too.  So I will probably have to get it.
I thought they did a pretty good job of mixing on the original.

I looked and I can't find out when it is getting released. I'll bet the 5.1 is surround sound will be amazing. I remember listening to Yes - Close To The Edge in 5.1 for the first time and it was killer. It throws you at first cause stuff is coming out of different speakers and I'm not used to hearing it like that.

I will say the the Giles Martin Remix's of Pepper, The White Album and Abbey were all killer. I know he didn't do these, but hearing a different mix will be interesting. I know the album back to front I've heard it so many times.

David Gilmour Blames Roger Waters for 'Animals' Remix Delay (ultimateclassicrock.com)

The war of words between David Gilmour and Roger Waters is far from over, as the Pink Floyd guitarist has accused his ex-bandmate of halting the progress of a long-awaited Animals remix in a new interview.

"Well, a very lovely Animals remix has been done, but someone has tried to force some liner notes on it that I haven’t approved and, um, someone is digging his heels and not allowing it to be released," Gilmour told Rolling Stone.

The guitarist and his wife, Polly Samson, were interviewed before Waters published a scathing letter on his website last week in which he accused Gilmour of exaggerating his degree of involvement in certain Pink Floyd songs, namely the signature tape-loop intro to their 1973 hit “Money.”

Gilmour declined to comment on Waters’ note when Rolling Stone asked for his reaction.

The liner notes for the Animals remix have been a point of contention for Gilmour and Waters for a long time now. Waters claims that Gilmour doesn’t want the them included in the remix “because he wanted Pink Floyd to remain enigmatic,” and that the dispute has delayed the Animals release for roughly two years. Waters has since agreed to have the album reissued sans liner notes, which he shared on his website last week. He also promised to dispute Gilmour's "gobbledygook" in his in-progress memoir.

Gilmour and Samson, however, shared a different version of events with Rolling Stone. When probed by his wife, Gilmour revealed that Pink Floyd “never had liner notes,” and it’s only an issue now “because someone wants them, and they got a journalist to write some, and I didn’t approve them. And he’s [Waters] just getting a bit shirty. You know how he is, poor boy."

Gilmour also said he and Waters are "pretty unlikely" to reach a resolution anytime soon. "There’s a lot of misinformation," he added. "And I’m not keen on constantly responding to every bit of untruth that I hear about myself and what I’m doing."

The guitarist continued: "There are packs of lies and information I’ve allowed to sit out there but my general view is to swallow and … it’ll all come right one day in one way or another."

Gilmour also said he hopes to release a new solo album "in the next year or two" and wants to begin working with other musicians in earnest now that he is fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Maybe  they will add some more, and different animal noises.
I think it will be interesting also.

What is so enigmatic about PF? We can go on the net and find out nearly anything we want out about the band and the members.  I want David and Roger to fight in an MMA cage match and who ever wins, gets their way.

Release the damn thing and stop being grown up babies.

When I put an album or CD on to listen to that is what I do, listen to it. I sometimes glace at the the liner notes, but I want to hear the music. I don't really give a good fuk what either of them have to say. Their feud is news that is over 40 years old.

I only wish that I could hear music as it is or was again.  My hearing is so bad that nothing sounds right. Hearing aids do help I have to admit, at least I can hear again but it's not right and sounds artificial.  Sort of a magnetic or speaker sound to it. I can still remember what it used to sound like and I have to crank the volume all the way up to hear it right. Maybe one day I'll get my hearing back again?  ( In Heaven. )

After See Emily Play (circa 1967) I didn't pay any attention to Pink Floyd. A friend who worked on The Wall brought over a copy of the album and it made me a believer.

Roger Waters is a major talent, but he blew it with the solo albums (Pros and Cons, KAOS). He's safer in memoriam of Pink Floyd.

His recent virtual/remote recordings during the pandemic are faultless.

I liked Pros And Cons, but Radio KAOS was a piece of poo. I saw him on both of those two tours. Amused To Death was not to bad and the last one what ever its called I didn't even give a listen. I care less that a squirt of p-iss to hear Roger p-iss and moan about politics. We get it shoved down our throat everywhere and I don't need  or want it in the music I listen to.

Nice. I'm not familiar with Animals. I gave up collecting Floyd albums at around 1974, but they had been my favourite band as a youngster.

Yeah.  After MEDDLE I mostly lost interest.  "Dark Side" and "Wish You Were Here" were passable, but not much after that.  And by 1980, while shopping around for a good "state-of-the-art" sound system, every audio dealer I went into insisted on showing off some system's quality by playing "The Wall".     By the time I got my system I was so sick of THE WALL that I never did bother to get a copy.  Also, back in the "day", regardless of how much some guys LIKED PF they quickly discovered the best way to break up a party and get folks to go home was put on a Floyd LP.   [wink]  Not exactly party music, but it is something I have to be in the mood for.

Dark Side is one of my favorite shots of nostalgia.

After that,  I've never really found a love with most of PFs works.  Good stuff, but nothing that digs into me.

It is too bad that the personalities involved just step all over each other.

Can you imagine how huge it would be if Waters and Gilmour toured together as Pink Floyd in 2021?   I seriously think they would go right back to being a top grossing band.  The resentment is strong with those 2.  But then I guess they are both so rich, they would be able to pass up such a huge pay day?

Out if all their stuff, Animals is the album I can still listen to any day.   That one and Meddle are my favorites.

Doesn't bother me, but I'm a socialist, atheist, pinko commie delivered courtesy of the UK National Health Service.

It does seem a bit hypocritical, though, to be blasting the powers that be from an estate in the Hamptons. I squeeze by on Social Security.

I did and I always do. Just like Rog, Bruce, Neil and others can run his mouths, I can run my fingers over the the keyboard of my PC.

The Brits would not give a toss if I went to England and ran my yap about Parliament and the Prime Minister, but Rog is huge rock star and has a platform called albums,  concerts, and the other social media he is on and some people will listen and agree with him.

I don't do FB or any of that other social media stuff. If this forum is considered social media its the only one I'm on.
