vinnier6
How careful do I need to when polishing the headstock where the “les paul model” in gold paint is? I know it was screen printed on there, just curious how easy it would be to polish it off
SteveFord
I would think they'd clear coat over it.
Mikael B
I have a custom shop Les Paul Special and it does not have a clear coat. The text falls off and i rarely touch that part of the guitar unless im changing strings. Try it using your nail on a very small fragment of the text. brad1
I woundn't try polishing, or doing anything with your fingernail on the logo. That may just damage it. Just don't polish it. It doesn't need it. Wipe it with a cloth when it gets dusty. And leave it be.
SteveFord
Maybe next time I'm in Guitar Center I'll see what they did. Don't mind me, just torture testing your headstock... I've always hit that area with the Gibson pump polish and a soft cloth, nothing ever happened but YMMV as they say.
Sgt. Pepper
Why do you need to polish the head stock? It may get a fingerprint on it when you change strings, but nothing like the body of a guitar where our grubby forearm rests on it while playing. Because that’s what I do, I get carried away with polishing

Dub-T-123
Look at them shine! btw I don’t believe the silkscreen is clear coated on the historic reissues, not sure about Gibson USA
01GT eibach
I don't think you will have any problems with polish. Just don't use any cleaners or rubbing compounds.
