Mike Manhost
Just ordered one from a GC in Hollywood, Ca. Coming end of this week, but might be a floor model. Super excited, anyone else have them yet? Would love to hear any and all thought

Dub-T-123
The Hollywood GC is the best GC I’ve been to. It’s the original location. I actually found a peavey bass amp in the parking lot behind the store one time that I took home and my band used for years. Then my drummer friends’ band used it too. We bought a moog synth there that was incredible. lots of fond memories of that GC. It should have mojo by association That store is the only place I’ve played an original Casino now that I think of it. I think you’re in for a good experience
Larsongs
GC Hollywood is a Candy Store for Musicians no doubt! I’m always amazed with their Vintage Gear! I’ve had one of these new Casinos on Order since they were announced at NAMM way back when.. It’s supposed to be coming in August I’m being told.. There is so much discussion about the Specs being far from accurate with regard to traditional Casinos! To the point of being sacrilegious! The wrong Ears on the Body, small Headstock & backwards Neck Inlays being the most criticized… Regardless, the NGD YouTubes all seem very positive & they sound & look great! Congrats on yours!
Mike Manhost
I just called them, and spoke to a guy there named Allen who gave me unbelievable service. He said the guitar came in Friday night, went up on their wall, and was pulled down minutes later for them to ship to me. The only person who has touched it, was him, and he said he played it for about 3 minutes. He is having is vintage guitar guy set it up, great guy and incredible service. While I was on the phone to him, someone handed him a 20k vintage flying V. 🙂

This is simply a modern Casino (therefore using modern Gibson specs) that takes some design cues from the 1962/1963 models in the headstock shape and pickup covers.

I don't mind the inlays the wrong way, LOVE the black pickup covers, only quibble (and a small one) is that I would have preferred the larger headstock.
Notes_Norton
I rather like the smaller headstock. I think the headstock on my made in Korea Casino is too long for my tastes. Probably because I'm used to the USA Gibson ES-330 that I've had since the 1970s, But it doesn't bother me, I love the guitar. Rick W
The ironic thing is the new lefty Casinos have the inlays pointed in the correct direction and the vintage ones were upside down. Regardless, they never said it was a reissue and I ordered a lefty in Royal Tan. Gibson has always stuck right handed fretboards on leftys and added a second set of side dots. mihcmac
I really like the new headstock (the Kalamazoo Headstock) on the Casino, the Beatles made the long headstock Casino world famous. But since the Kalamazoo was re-introduced on Epiphones main product line I have bought 4 new Epiphones that have it. Larsongs
When I strap on my new USA Casino, plug it in & play I could care less which way the Inlays face or whether or not the Headstock is long or short… Recently before I got those things started messing with my head.. But, it’s such a great Guitar in all the important aspects those 2 nits seem ridiculously trivial & unimportant… I wanted a great looking, playing, master crafted & fantastic sounding USA Casino & it is….. Notes_Norton
I don't like the color, but that doesn't make it wrong. Someone else might love it. I do appreciate their honesty though. Notes ♪
mihcmac
Pony Boy Gold. Remember that Lennon sanded the finish off of his to get a natural appearance. So does this mean that a used USA Casino is worth 3.3k? Edited September 19, 2021 by mihcmac
SteveFord
Only if you repaint it and botch the masking job. If you get the tape right $3300 will buy you shares in it.
pohatu771
I didn't expect such negativity, but that's because I've learned nothing in a decade at this forum. I like the color. I don't like it more than the Royal Tan I bought, or even more than the Vintage Sunburst that this one started as, but it's interesting. I'm curious at what point Gibson will reduce the price if it hasn't sold. Most stuff on their store sells pretty quickly, but most stuff isn't in increase over the original retail price. mihcmac
Well it looks like it was sold on Reverb in Good condition with the MOD stamp and a 2 year limited factory warranty on playability, seemingly for the asking price.
