Iv got a 2019 SJ200 that has Grover rotomatic tuners and I’m thinking about swapping  to the Kluson ( gotoh keystone ) as I personally think they look better!

thoughts?

I like the Kluson’s the best.  Mine is a 2000 model. It was sold with Kluson’s.

Yeah I think that looks great too! Mine is sunburst! I love the 4 bar moustache bridge aswell. My j200  has the 2 bar moustache which still looks great!

My wife's 1960 J200 has Rotomatics although they are stamped "Grover".  The coolest tuners I have even seen on a J200 though were on a 1958 which had Kluson Sealfasts.   Although Gibson did use these tuners on high dollar guitars like the Byrdland in this case they were leftover Epihone tuners with the Epilson re-etched to look like a "G".

While I think Rotomatics look so wrong an a J45 or any Gibson with a  narrow headstock, I find them less objectionable  on the wider tapered open book headstock on guitars such as the J200.  Might be because there is more room for them.

I recently swapped out the Rotomatics on my SJ200 Standard for Gotoh 301s with chrome tulip knobs. Much lighter and a very accurate machinehead with no backlash to speak of at all. A significant upgrade from the Rotos, drop in fitment and they look great. Surprisingly inexpensive, too. The 501s are touted as a higher end machinehead but they’re not a drop-in replacement for Rotos, unlike the 301s.
