Gibson Hollow body identification needed from limited picture visibility

Recommended Posts

So I am bidding almost blindly on a Gibson Hollow body guitar from a local pick up bid site. They are providing VERY limited information on the item and only a single picture without a shot of the headstock. Can anyone identify this from the picture? I am also concerned that maybe it is a Chibson fake. Does anyone see anything in the picture attached that may answer some of these questions?

Thanks!

Scratchplate shape WRONG.

Trapeze tailpiece WRONG.  Sort of like a Byrdland but not close enough.

Can't see bridge clearly but it looks WRONG.  A single cutaway Gibson with a trapeze tailpiece like that would be more likely to have a movable bridge with a wooden base.  ES 330s, some ES 335s, the ES 135 and ES 446 do have fixed bridges and trapezes but not ornate ones.   The guitar in your pic is not one of those and highly unlikely to be a real Gibson.

Can't see inlays on fretboard clearly but...WRONG.

IMO....avoid this.
