MissouriPicker
Heard a few minutes ago that Charlie Watts of The Stones has died. No info yet on what he died from. All the people we grew-up listening to are leaving us. RIP, Charlie! Thanks for that great Stones beat.
zombywoof
I just heard about Charlie's passing and am having trouble accepting he will no longer be there sitting behind that Gretsch drum kit. RIP Charlie. We will never forget you.
DanvillRob
I'm so glad I got to see him in 1965 the first time, and the third time in 2019. (54 years later)! RIP, Charlie.

olie
An understated rhythm-keeper. Just listen to the album "Let It Bleed" and fight the urge your feet have to keep tapping along to his pulse. Another one bites the dust. Peace, Charlie.

E-minor7
Yes - R.I.P - that beat was a heavy part of our lives, wasn't it. A fuel of freedom and necessary rebellion placed in the exact right space & time. Listened to it since 1965 - 4 times live. And it was as if attending those Stones concerts was among the best things I could do with my live. Have to say it seems spooky that I was on the Tube to check Mick's Charlie's good tonite, isn't he-remark from the live-album Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out the evening before he passed away. Also downloaded this picture from the 1965 tour ~
JuanCarlosVejar
RIP Mr. Charlie Watts . Had the privilege of seeing the Stones twice (2015 and 2017) and i value it more now. JC
jt
I saw Charlie and Keif perform at least a dozen times. Can't remember the band's name (?), but they were good. 🙂 No rock drummer could swing like Charlie did.
bobouz
Let's see, I was fourteen in 1965. Bought the first three Rolling Stones albums & just about wore them out, discovering some of the great American blues masters thanks to this British band & others. But thereafter, the Stones were mostly off my radar. That said, I could happily be listening to "2120 S Michigan Ave" at any given moment, with Watts decisively kicking the whole thing off. Same here on the blues. I got my first exposure from the Stones and Animal early LP’s
