winslow
Aloha, Just picked up a used Casino Coupe and am getting it back to where it should be. Cleaned and hydrated the fingerboard, will polish the frets. Upon taking off the old strings I discovered the bridge posts on the tunomatic are loose in the inserts and rock so the whole bridge rocks. I am assuming this isn't normal to have string tension lock it in place although they do lock the bridge down on the adjustment wheels. How do I remove the inserts from the body so I can replace them. I see tutorials on solid body that won't work on a hollow body. Anyone have experience doing this? Thanks in advance. ramplaysthings
Oh hi Mark, I’m having this same issue. Did you end up finding a solution for either removing the bushings or stabilizing the bridge posts so that they dont rock? Thanks! stevo58
I cut a small block of hard wood, drilled a hole through it slightly larger than the insert, put a fender washer on a bolt, threaded it in the insert, and slowly tightened the bolt until the insert came out. You may want to score the finish around the insert so you don’t pull a huge chunk of finish when the insert comes out, which will probably occur if the inserts were installed before the clear coat had cured. This is very likely the case. Edited February 18, 2022 by stevo58
GregD72
The easiest way is the get an m8 bolt, screw it in until it pushes the stud out.

In a Casino, that doesn’t work very well. It’s a hollow body. The studs are mounted in the parallel braces under the top, but the hole is drilled all the way through the brace.
