Q: How many guitars should a normal person have?

A: About fifteen.

Q: Umm, that sounds more like a guitar enthusiast to me.

A: No, a guitar enthusiast has about fifty.

Q: That sounds more like someone who is obsessed with guitars.

A: Nope. People obsessed with guitars will have hundreds.

Q: Hundreds?  Yikes! That sounds like a psycho!

A: No. Psychos seldom own guitars, or at most tend to have just one or two.

Q: Ah, now that sounds like a normal person.

A: No no. A normal person has about fifteen. We already covered that.

This is a very difficult question, and is best answered in mathematical terms

The number of guitars that should be owned by a “normal” person, as defined by the non-guitar playing spouse, where X= the number of guitars

X= 1,

The number of guitars that should be owned by the guitar playing spouse, where X= the number of guitars

X > 1, X < Ꝏ,

As in Special Relativity, both conditions while seemingly different, are simultaneously correct, depending on your frame of reference.

I tend to be on the guitar playing spouse side of the equation, just south of infinity.

Or at least reserve the ability have as many as necessary in keeping with my definition of normalcy.

You made this funny post, and everyone is all serious like "well I have 5 guitars, but plan to get 2 more" 🤣

You're right and then there's the two hole variant, let me get my calculator and come back to this later.

Steve,

Hate to break it to you, but they're also releasing the j-45 "Emmenthal Commemorative" model, which have holes all over them, every guitar with a different number. Really gonna £uck up your calculations.

In a Free Country, as many as you want…

Sure.  But a cautionary addendum might be;

As many as you can afford and have actual use for.   There's no need to make it so when you open your music room's door it winds up being like Fibber McGee's closet!  [cool]

Guess the wife is going to have to get a third job to afford all of those new Holy J-45s I simply MUST have or else life won't be worth living.

Probably going to need one in each color, too.

Steve,

But of course.

I'd expect no less from a True Gibsonian:

"Give me all the j-45's, or give me death!".

Luckily, as a Martian, I have a natural immunity to such mischiguss, and do not suffer from the symptoms you fear to exhibit.
